Mujeres campesinas y soberanía alimentaria en comunidades de Sierra de Lobos, Guanajuato. Una perspectiva transdisciplinar en Investigación- Acción- Participativa.
Abstract
The project is integrated into studies on gender and agroecological systems in traditional peasant societies. The findings obtained from a first phase of participatory action research in the communities of La Angostura and La Patiña in Sierra de Lobos, a Protected Natural Area (PNA), within the state of Guanajuato. Making it possible to identify women from peasant families as key actors to enhance agroecological transition processes. In the reproduction of local practices such as the milpa system and backyard gardens. From the participatory diagnosis carried out during the years from 2022 to 2023, qualitative indicators were recorded, which suggest the articulation of the gender approach as a transversal axis of the theoretical-methodological approach of agroecology, involving aspects such as the sexual division of labor in the peasant family, roles of women and men within the community and the empowerment of vulnerable groups. This has allowed us to promote and strengthen the coordination of local actors in the generation of strategies towards sustainable agricultural practices. Delving into actions and decision-making regarding the management of agrobiodiversity in the productive spaces of the peasant family, where the participation of women is fundamental in the design of agroecological systems.
