Incorporación de la dimensión ambiental en la formación profesional en dos universidades: la Universidad de Guadalajara y la Universidad del Mar, un acercamiento
Abstract
The present study incorporates the environmental dimension in the professional training of two universities in two states of the Mexican Republic, Jalisco and Oaxaca, both with physical, geographical, biological, and cultural characteristics of great importance for the conservation of biodiversity. The descriptive method of documentary analysis was used (available information media and curricular content analysis to first recover the curricular baggage of each of the higher education institutions). In the different university careers, the undergraduate and engineering degrees with curricular environmentalization, the incorporation of the environmental dimension in the different curricular plans, and the insertion of the objectives of sustainable development proposed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization were identified. The analysis of the educational systems includes the productive, the environmental, and the principles of sustainability with educational purposes in their structures and their pertinence, persisting paradigms, values, and social interests on the scope, possibilities, and responsibilities of the public university to achieve this goal; a more complex process is required to define the generic and particular competencies with the substantive functions of each university model.Downloads
