Rural youth. Sociocultural strategies for the preservation and dissemination of the biocultural heritage of San Miguel Canoa, Puebla

Abstract

The following article aims to reflect on the importance of the participation of rural youth from San Miguel Canoa, Puebla in the formulation of sociocultural strategies for the preservation and dissemination of their biocultural heritage and territorial identity. Based on the territorial sociocultural approach, the implementation of dialogic interviews, sociocultural tours and photography, six experiences of young people will be presented: María Estela Amador, Edgar Zepeda, El Lente del Pueblo, Giovanni Domínguez, Gabriel Pérez and Miguel Reyes who, Starting from dance, photography, the cargo system, agriculture and the organization of local fairs, they reproduce sociocultural alternatives that represent the connection with their territory, their identity and their active role in the cultural reproduction of their traditions and customs in the face of problems. environmental, economic and social problems that afflict San Miguel Canoa, so we propose the following question: What are the emotional links and social relationships that the Mazame peasants of San Miguel Canoa weave for the reproduction of sociocultural strategies that contribute to the strengthening of territorial identity and the preservation of biocultural heritage?
